November 03 2017, Grenier Volkswagen
Unveiled for the first time last year, it has since toured various auto shows where consumers have been able to discover a fully-redesigned compact SUV with much more interior space, a high-end interior, the latest connectivity and safety technologies, and more importantly a longer wheelbase that greatly improves the versatility of the new Tiguan.
The New 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan Comes with an Extended Wheelbase
With the new Tiguan’s extended wheelbase, Volkswagen will offer Canadian consumers a compact SUV that meets their interior space requirements. When it arrives in Canada, the new Tiguan will offer a passenger compartment that benefits from an increased length of 272 mm which results in a lot more legroom. The cabin is so much bigger that it will now be possible to accommodate up to 7 passengers in the new Tiguan. Inside you will find a host of new connectivity technologies such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto features as well as a new, more modern and easy-to-use infotainment system. In terms of safety, the 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan will offer several driver assistance features such as Intelligent Cruise Control, Collision Detection System with Automatic Braking and Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Warning System and more. A power tailgate, a heated steering wheel, a panoramic sunroof and multi-zone air conditioning are but a few examples of the other functions we find in the new Tiguan.
A Turbo Engine for the 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan
The new Tiguan will be powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine developing 184 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque. This engine will be paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission that transmits power to the front wheels as standard with the 4Motion all-wheel-drive system being optional.
